Our Design Process
-
We begin with a free 30 minute phone call to learn more about the nature of your project. If there is a good initial fit, we’ll schedule a full, on-site consultation to flesh out project scope, style and budget.
Consultations last approximately 1 hour and are $250 due at the time of scheduling.
Through this visit we will confirm next steps and fit for design.
-
A bid for your design will be provided by email along with a description of the project’s scope. A contract will be provided with a request for 50% deposit to begin.
-
The design phase takes approximately 3 months and begins with site analysis and measurements to produce scaled technical drawings. Mood boards and a conceptual design are developed to hone in on vision, style and direction. A round of review and feedback takes place and then we move into the final design phase. Master plans are produced which include the full plant palette and a detailed planting and hardscape plan. Another round of review and edits occurs at this final stage. Adjustments are made and the final plan is sent via email.
Designs typically begin at $2,500-3,000 for small/partial designs and start at $5,000 for full landscape design.
-
The plan is now ready to solicit a bid for installation/build from a trusted contractor. We will facilitate this whole process and review the final estimate with you. Once details are confirmed with the contractor, we schedule the build.
Build estimates can be anywhere from $10k to $100k+ depending on size and scope of project. At this time, we also put together an estimate for the plant budget and project oversight. We procure plants, orchestrate layout, and coordinate with trusted contractors and partners to bring your vision to life. Project oversight and design alignment is critical for making sure the plans are implemented accordingly and is typically estimated around 10% of the build estimate.
-
Work begins! Installs can take anywhere from 1-6+ months. It depends on the scope of the project. Expected timelines are reviewed during the previous phase. We are available throughout the build phase to ensure there is design alignment and that your vision comes to life.
We procure plants, orchestrate layout, and coordinate with trusted contractors and partners to bring your vision to life. This includes flagging plants for keeping/discarding, collaborating with contractors to work out problems in realtime, adjusting plans in balance with on-site realities while keeping the integrity of the design at heart, and so much more.
-
After the build is complete, we are available to provide guidance and direction, as needed. Sometimes you just need a little support in stewarding your new garden forward. We are here to help.

Rooted in over a decade of gardening, Ashley founded Meadow Bloom to deepen her connection to nature within the urban landscape. She brings a rich, multi-disciplinary lens to garden design—drawing from her work in global public health, international development, sustainable food, floristry, and craft. Above all, she is dedicated to creating nature-informed spaces that invite people outdoors and reconnect them with the natural world.
About
In addition to landscape design services, Meadow Bloom runs a small urban cutting garden, offering seasonal floral subscriptions and custom arrangements. The seasonal floral shop is guided by what’s growing and always features Meadow Bloom grown flowers and cuts from other local growers in Seattle and Washington.

A reflection of time and place, our seasonal garden arrangement features fresh blooms and foliage from the Meadow Bloom cutting garden, thoughtfully arranged in a vase for you or your loved one.
Arrangements are driven by what is in season. You can expect hellebores, tulips, and daffodils in early spring; ranunculus and roses in late spring/early summer; dahlias, zinnias, and cosmos midsummer; and heirloom crysanthemums in autumn.
